Dog park Coming soon

WOW!!! What a wonderfully, joyful day!!! Those who came to walk the Dog Trot and see the Ceremonial Opening witnessed the dogs playing together. They were truly in doggy heaven, as they romped around free. Even some of the smaller ones got into the spirit!

Many Thanks to the Board Members that were able to come on a Holiday Weekend. VP Jerry Newmin, Lynda Vail, Greg Beaton, Mike Sage and President Mike McFeeley. We had both the board and volunteers in on digging with our fancy golden shovels courtesy of Debi Bretz and Lori Luscher.

This Dog Park would not have happened if it wasn’t for Past President Joe Averdick’s Section 22 board and this board helping to champion this latest amenity through. Mike Lemon, and Ron Seals and his landscape crew started the cleanup process, making it far easier to see the Dog Park as we volunteers envision it.

Once again thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of this community. we raised an additional $4,052 Saturday. Wayne Engkjer won the Naming Rights with a bid of $2,200. The official name is the Burnt Store Marina Barking Lot! This amount brings our gross total to over $23,877.58 with another $2,000 promised shortly.

In the meantime, the permit process has started and a fencing contractor chosen. If all goes as we envision it, the Dog Park will be a reality by early September. We will continue to sell Brick and Banners as you can see on the following flyers… Seals and his landscape crew started the cleanup process, making it far easier to see the Dog Park as we volunteers envision it.

Our chosen signage company did a great job on these smaller banners. We hope to see more banners to add more color and support to our park. The large banners are 3′ x 5′ for $1000 and they last approximately 2 years while the small banners are 2′ x 3′ for $500.

Help us build a dog park within our beautiful resort home!

The Burnt Store Marina Barking Lot is just steps away from making our dream a reality. Please consider being a part of this latest amenity to our lovely home by donating what you can. We have over $26,000 raised thus far, thanks to the extreme generosity of a few residents & friends.

Section 22 members, their guests and/or renters who join the park will finally have a place to let their dogs run freely off leash in a safe, controlled environment. (FYI, This latest amenity is one that is being offered with all the new communities going in along Burnt Store Rd.) For our properties to stay abreast of the times, it’s a needed amenity!. Our property values depend on our many amenities being meticulously maintained which include our golf courses, fitness center, marina, dining spots and our soon to be new dog park.
