Dog Park

We tried to clarify the BSM Barking Lot Membership Form. Our Annual Membership $100 is for each Section 22 & 23 household not dog. We would like to have photos, so we get to know all by sight.

More importantly we need to have your current dog’s health records scanned, so we know all dogs have their Bordetella and Rabies shots up to date. We will have a monthly company thoroughly clean both sides of the park and sanitize it to prevent hookworm and such.

Our FOB Entry System is in place and the separate Maintenance Gates are Installed, the Park will be open from 9AM until 6 PM– Mon-Sun.

Current Members if you have not received your FOB must contact Lori Luscher:  l_luscher@hotmail.com

Or you can find her and Enzo at the park many Saturdays from 2-3 PM

If any neighbors hear noises from that area in non opening times, please call the police.

Thanks for Making Our Dreams Come True…Our Only Other Dream for the Park is a Shaded Pavilion…maybe 2025?

Thanks so much for helping make our Dog Park: the BSM Barking Lot a reality within our beautiful resort home!

The BSM Barking Lot is finally open. Please consider being a part of this latest amenity to our lovely home by donating what you can. We have over $26,000 raised thus far, thanks to the extreme generosity of a few residents & friends. Section 22 Board of Directors matched with another $25,000 in amenity money to help us finish up most of the park’s needs.

What we would still like to see happen. Is to sell more brick pavers, so our pavers go all the way from our entrance gates to our patio. We want to to replace our temporary tent with a permanent metal hurricane proof shade pavilion. Lastly, buying shade trees and getting them planted are not inexpensive, nor are permanent dog toys. Whatever help that you can give us is most appreciated!

Our BSM Barking Lot’s Grand Opening on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2-3:30 PM was a huge success with over 100 people in attendance. Current Section 22 Board member Mike Sage was Master of Ceremonies. Former Section 22 Board President, Joe Averdick came back to give a short speech. Joe gave credit to his wife Liz for the idea of the dog park and thanked all the volunteers who saw the project through. Current Section 22 Board President Mike McFeely talked about what a benefit it is to our community and how its completion has added to our property values. Burnt Store Presbyterian Minister Jaco Bester provided a lovely blessing and prayer for the dogs, dog park and the owners present. Lee County Lt Jevon Matthews and Deputy Hendricks provided an exciting talk and presentation of just one of their 20 highly trained dogs capabilities. Thanks to the generosity of our members over 25 individual prizes were given out. Lee County Sheriff’s Ice Cream truck passed out pup cups and ice cream cones to the delight of all. Before and after the ceremonies Lori Luscher, Chairwoman Cyndi Gottschalk, and Debi Bretz passed out the members’ new FOBS along with Tamara and Lori’s assistance. We want to give a big Thank You to Major Andrew Scott from our Gate Access crew for helping with parking. We couldn’t have done it without him!!! Once again, our thanks to all that came to help us celebrate this team/community effort!!!
